The privilege of joining University Women's Association, Singapore (UWAS) is open to all women who have earned a degree from a recognized institution of postsecondary learning. Membership in UWAS brings membership with the International Federation of University Women (IFUW), an international non-governmental organization (NGO) of over 160,000 women university graduates from seventy-nine national federations and associations throughout the world. IFUW affiliation, in turn, connects UWAS members to other international women's organizations: the International Federation of University Women, the International Council of Women, the International Federation of Business and Professional Women, Soroptimist International and Zonta International.

Membership in UWAS also brings membership with Singapore Council of Women's Organisations (SCWO), an umbrella body covering more than 45 women's organisations representing more than 150,000 women in the Republic. The combined global and national network is clearly immense. To be a member of UWAS is indeed a privilege.

In addition, members enjoy membership discount on talks, seminars, workshops and conferences organised by UWAS.

UWAS offers two types of membership:

Ordinary members pay an entrance fee of $60.00 and an annual membership fee of $40.00. The membership fee is payable on joining and at the beginning of each calendar year.
Life members pay an entrance fee of $60.00 and a onetime membership fee of $400.00 that is payable on joining.

Fill in the information and post the application together with a recent photograph attached, a photocopy of your academic certificate(s), and a crossed cheque payable to UWAS for the appropriate full amount to the Membership Chairperson at

Getting to Know ...

Genevieve Ng

Profession:
An accounting, finance & HR practitioner.

Background:
I graduated from Curtin University Of Technology in 1991, obtained my CPA from CPA Australia in 1995, graduated with a Master of Business Administration from University Of Western Australia in 1996 and obtained my Fellow of FINSIA in 2005.

Interests/Hobbies:
I read widely, ponder deeply and analyse topics of interest. Helping youth and young adult to realise their untap potential to give their best in their studies and life with hard work and no short cut. Motivating myself to get off the couch to exercise. And volunteer my time to de-stigmatise mental health, which is a turn off conversation topic for many in our society.

Favourite Haunt in Singapore
No particular specific haunt in Singapore though I tend to laze around my neighbourhood in the eastside of Singapore during weekends and public holidays.

Interesting fact
A woman of contradiction. Whilst I strive for work life balance, I usually would not refuse challenging tasks. And kind friends would advise me against burnout.
